What is a Country Hope SCHOOL AMBASSADOR?

By learning about our organisation and the services we offer, our Ambassadors can spread the word in their school community. So, if a fellow student is ever diagnosed with cancer or other life-threatening illness, your school will know exactly how to help them.

Why is it important for schools to know about Country Hope?

Schools can play an important role in linking families with local support services, like Country Hope.

When a North East Victorian or Border child is diagnosed with cancer or other life-threatening illness, they are sent directly to Melbourne or Sydney for treatment, without being linked in to local health and support services.

Often, families have just hours to pack their bags and leave for hospital in Melbourne or Sydney to keep their child alive. Families get caught in a whirlwind of urgency, fear and uncertainty. Only the most essential calls get made, which is often to family, work and  school. Schools can refer families to Country Hope services, so we can offer financial and emotional support when it is needed most.

We know there are more families out there in the North East and Riverina that need our support

Country Hope has been around for 20 years, but until recently the North East and Border has been serviced from Wagga. We now have an office in Albury, and we are trying to make sure every family that needs us can tap into our services.

If Ambassadors from every school in the region can help spread the word and help raise funds , we can make sure no family goes unsupported during the most difficult times of their lives.
